Representative Text

1 O to be more tender,
Merciful and kind,
Grateful for the blessings
We may daily find;
Sowing all around us
Precious seeds of love,
Bringing unto others
Sunbeams from above.

2 O to be more noble,
Scorning all that’s wrong,
Pure and glad and truthful,
Filling life with song;
Trustful toward our Father,
Toward our neighbor, too,
Seeing thro’ the shadows
Gleams of shining blue.

3 O to be more humble,
Like our lowly King,
Casting care upon him,
Resting ‘neath his wing;
O to be more holy,
Growing in his grace,
Till, beyond the river,
We behold his face!
