Representative Text

1 Oh, we sing of Canaan fair,
And our lov’d ones over there,
Who in all its glories share,
Over yonder.
And we long to join that throng,
In a grand eternal song,
And our Saviour’s praise prolong,
Over yonder.

Refrain:
Oh, the time will not be long,
Till we sing that glad, new song,
With the ransomed ones in glory,
Over yonder.
Be our journey short or long,
We will lift our hearts in song,
Till we shout the glad new story,
Over yonder.

2 Tho’ the way be often drear,
Christ, our Lord, is there to cheer,
Till our home seems very near,
Over yonder.
And the sunshine grows so bright,
That we feel almost in sight
Of that land of radiant light,
Over yonder. [Refrain]

3 Land of promise, thee we sing,
And our heartfelt tribute bring
To our Lord, who is the King
Over yonder.
But life’s sands are fleeting fast,
Soon our journey will be past,
Then we’ll meet our lov’d at last,
Over yonder. [Refrain]
