Representative Text

1 Old Glory stands without a peer,
The emblem of the free;
It dearer grows as year by year
It floats o’er land and sea;
Tho’ din and roar of thunder-crash
Goes rumbling thro’ the land,
We tremble at the lightning’s flash,
But more determined stand.

Refrain:
Hurrah! hurrah! Old Glory, wave
In beauty ever more!
Hurrah! hurrah! Thy stars and strives
Shall float from shore to shore.

2 In many a dark and trying hour
Thy colors wide unfurled
Have floated till thy righteous pow’r
Is felt around the world.
Forever wave, Old Glory, wave
Above the brave and just,
And may he fill a traitor’s grave
Who drags thee in the dust. [Refrain]
