Representative Text

1 On the cross His life outpoured,
All your sins and mine He bore;
Now in earth and heav’n adored,
Jesus lives forevermore.

Refrain:
For the way of the cross is the way of the crown;
For the way of the cross is the way of the crown.

2 Only He that cross could bear,
His alone the sacrifice!
But if we His glory share,
That reward has still its price. [Refrain]

3 “Any man who follows me,
Let him first himself deny;
If he lose his life,” said He,
“He will find it by and by.” [Refrain]
