Representative Text

1 Out of the depths, poor, wretched, blind,
Penitent heart and restless mind,
Seeking for joy I could not find,
Out of the depths I cried.

Refrain:
Out of the depths He lifted me,
Unto the Rock to liberty;
Here I shall stand eternally,
Out of the depths He saved me.

2 Out of the depths to heights untold,
Leaving the world so dark and cold,
Into the tender Shepherd’s fold,
Out of the depths I cried. [Refrain]

3 Out of the depths He saved my soul,
Breaking the chains which had control,
Making me pure and strong and whole,
Out of the depths I cried. [Refrain]
