1 ¿Quién, mi Señor, habitará, dichoso
en tu morada, o en tu monte santo;
y tras quebranto encontrará el eterno
dulce reposo?

2 El que camina sin dudar, derecho, p
or sendas rectas, libres de malicia;
y obra justicia, la verdad preciada
habla en su pecho.

3 El que su lengua a maldecir no apresta,
ni daño causa a prójimo ninguno;
ni al importuno que contra él murmura
crédito presta.

4 El que a los viles con desdén censura,
mas honra a cuantos al eterno temen;
y aunque jurare en perjuicio propio,
jamás perjura.

5 El que no presta su dinero a usura,
ni por cohecho al inocente vende;
quien ésto hiciere vivirá en morada
siempre segura.

Author: Juan Bautista Cabrera Ivers

Juan Bautista Cabrera Ivars was born in Benisa, Spain, April 23, 1837. He attended seminary in Valencia, studying Hebrew and Greek, and was ordained as a priest. He fled to Gibraltar in 1863 due to religious persecution where he abandoned Catholicism. He worked as a teacher and as a translator. One of the works he translated was E.H. Brown's work on the thirty-nine articles of the Anglican Church, which was his introduction to Protestantism. He was a leader of a Spanish Reformed Church in Gibraltar. He continued as a leader in this church when he returned to Spain after the government of Isabel II fell, but continued to face legal difficulties.
