Representative Text

1 Reapers now are needed for the fields of ripened grain,
Hear the Master calling, may His call be not in vain;
Rally to the summons, hasten to entrain,
To the harvest fields go forth today.

Refrain:
The fields are while to harvest and the laborers are few,
The call from ev’ry land and clime is coming now to you;
Awake ye sleepers, and join the reapers!
The harvest time is swiftly passing by;
The fields are white to harvest and the sickles timely wield,
Will save the sheaves from everlasting waste upon the field,
Awake, ye sleepers, and join the reapers.
And great reward for services will be given by and by.

2 “Go ye into all the world,” was Jesus’ last command,
Preach the everlasting gospel over sea and land;
Into ev’ry nation let His word expand,
He’ll be with you even to the end. [Refrain]

3 The field of labor is the world, the grain, a precious soul,
Who thro’ endless ages will the Master’s name extol;
Shall they thro’ your service safely reach the goal,
When the Lord of harvest shall return. [Refrain]
