1 Ring out, ye bells of Christ­mas day,
The sin from earth shall pass away;
Awake, ye shep­herds now to greet
This hal­lowed morn, so glad, so sweet;
For lo! to earth a king has come,
Who left for us His star­ry home.
Ring out, ye bells of Christ­mas, ring,
And tell the world of Christ, our king.

2 O Beth­le­hem! thou beau­ti­ful!
In fair Ju­dea’s lone­ly vale
Thou gav­est to the world a king
Whose prais­es worlds on worlds shall sing.
Let ev­ery heart its hom­age pay
To Christ our king, this Christ­mas day.
Ye Christ­mas bells, peal out! O ring!
And tell the world of Christ, our king.
