Representative Text

1 Rivers are flowing gently, free,
Seeking the boundless, restless sea,
Whence to return in falling rain,
Over the hill and plain.

Chorus:
Flowing, ever flowing, are the rivers of God’s boundless love,
Flowing, ever flowing from the throne in Heaven above,
Flowing, ever flowing, are the rivers of God’s boundless love,
Flowing, ever flowing from the throne in Heaven above.

2 God’s love is giv’n in richest store,
From pole to pole, from shore to shore,
Deep as the ocean is, and wide,
Ceaseless as is its tide. [Chorus]

3 He crowns with love our passing days,
O let our hearts beat high with praise,
Wafting our songs to heav’n above,
Praise Him, our God of love. [Chorus]

At first he furnished compositions to the Hall-Mack Publishing Company, but soon became editor and manager, where he worked for 37 years. He felt he was serving God better in the gospel song writing business, than as a pharmacist.
