1 See the army of the Saviour;
Marching on prepared to work,
Hearing ev’ry call to labor,
Not a duty would they shirk,
Nor with arms for bloody conflict,
Go they forth at each command;
But with love, and grace, and mercy
Sending peace to ev’ry land.

Marching, marching, soldiers of light;
See the banner waving so bright,
Marching, onward, working for right,
Jesus leads them on, Hallelujah!
Onward, upward, marching away;
Jesus hears them singing today;

Marching the way he leadeth.

2 See the army of the Saviour;
See them working for the King;
To the troubled and the weary
Gleams of happiness to bring.
Out upon the sunny highways,
Cheer the trav’ler on the road;
Giving drink to worn and thirsting,
Help oppress’d to bear their load. [Refrain]

3 See the army of the Saviour;
They shall triumph in the end,
All the earth shall hear of Jesus
And of blessings he shall send.
Let us therefore work and trust him,
Do the bidding of our Lord;
He will surely bless each effort
