Let Us All Be Thankful

Representative Text

1. See the little flowers nodding in the sun,
From the early morning till the day is done.
Listen! do you hear them? this is what they say:
"Let us all be thankful to the Lord today."

Chorus:
Let us all be joyful, thankful ev'ry day,
For the countless blessings all along our way.
Let us cease complaining and with gladness say:
"We are very thankful thankful ev'ry day.

2. In the leafy forest rise the stately trees,
Swinging giant branches in the gentle breeze.
Do you hear their music? Hark! the glad refrain:
"Thank the Heav'nly Father" is their joyful strain. [Chorus]

3. Watch the little birdies take their daily bread;
See them drinking water with uplifted head.
Do you hear them telling what you ought to do?
"Thank the Heav'nly Father for his love to you." [Chorus]

4. Let us learn the lesson of a grateful heart.
In the signs of nature let us take our part.
Tho' we may have trials, still 'tis sweet to say:
"We are very thankful, thankful all the day." [Chorus]
