Representative Text

1 See the place where Jesus lay,
Mark the open portal;
Angels rolled the stone away,
On that day immortal.

Refrain:
Morning breaks upon the gloom,
Broken seal and empty tomb,
Seek Him not among the dead,
He is risen, as He said.

2 Hasten now to those who grieve,
Tell the wondrous story;
Be not faithless, but believe;
Ye shall see His glory. [Refrain]

3 See the place where Jesus lay,
Weep no more in sadness;
Hail His resurrection day,
Bright with joy and gladness. [Refrain]

4 Tell the world that Jesus lay,
And shall live forever;
From the life that now His gives
Death no more shall sever. [Refrain]
