Representative Text

1 Should the Saviour come to call me,
In the early morning light;
Should the hand of death enthrall me
In the night.
When I hear the voice that’s saying
“Blessed child of earth come home,”
I shall know that Jesus bids me
In that day.

Refrain:
In that day,
In that day,
I shall know that Jesus bids me
In that day,
In that day
In that day,
I shall know that Jesus bids me
In that day.

2 Though the time comes flashing o’er me,
In the busy hours of day;
And the path which dark before me
Flees away.
When my Saviour sends His summons
“Come before My throne of grace,”
I shall know the voice that calls me
In that day. [Refrain]

3 When the sunshine bright and glowing,
Sinks beneath the western hill,
When the hours of night are growing
Calm and still.
When my summons comes at midnight,
“Come to Me, for thou art Mine,”
I shall know the voice of Jesus
In that day. [Refrain]
