Jesus Always Goes Ahead

Representative Text

1 Since I made the Lord my choice,
Since He made my heart rejoice;
Ev'rywhere that I am led,
Jesus always goes ahead.

Chorus:
Praise the Lord I'm, not afraid,
In dark hours, I'm not dismayed,
For I know where e'er I'm led,
Jesus always goes ahead.

2 Oft, across my path I see,
Shadows that would frighten me;
But of them I have no dread,
Jesus always goes ahead. [Chorus]

3 In the day or in the night,
In the dark or in the light;
Safely in His steps I tread,
Jesus always goes ahead. [Chorus]

4 When I reach the Jordan's shrink,
Safe with Him I will not shrink;
O'er its tide a bridge is spread,
Jesus always goes ahead. [Chorus]
