Sister, thou art sweetly sleeping

Author: Mary Small
Tune: SLEEP
Published in 9 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Sister, thou art sweetly sleeping,
Free from pain, and toil, and care;
Dearest sister, how we miss thee!
Miss thee in the house of prayer.

2 Thou wilt sleep, but not forever;
Jesus died, and rose again;
Soon he'll comes in clouds of glory,
Thou wilt rise with him to reign.

3 Sister, then we hope to meet thee;
Then we'll take thee by the hand;
Then we'll twine our arms around thee,
In that bright and happy land.
