Representative Text

1 Someone who had the glad tidings received,
Gladdened another whose spirit was grieved;
Someone a heart of its burden delivered—
Jesus knew—was it you?

Refrain:
Jesus knew, yes, Jesus knew
Whether the deed was faulty or true;
Someone did something his hands found to do—
Jesus knew—was it you?

2 Someone gave cheer to a soul in despair,
Lightened a trial and banished a care;
Brightened a path that had never seemed fair—
Jesus knew—was it you? [Refrain]

3 Someone who sang of the heavenly Dove,
Praising His wonderful mercy and love,
Caused one in sin to seek pardon above—
Jesus knew—was it you? [Refrain]
