Sound the Bugle

Representative Text

1 Sound upon the bugle the signal to advance,
And intent on winning battle for your King,
Publish to the world the might
Of the cause of truth and right,
And with joy and gladness make the echoes ring.

Chorus:
Sound upon the bugle the signal to advance
The enemy can never stand against the Spirit's lance;
Sound upon the bugle the stirring rall'ing cry;
We will take the world for Jesus if we try.

2 Sound upon the bugle the rousing call to arms,
And in glitt'ring armor go in Jesus' pow'r,
Forward ever, never fail,
In His strength we will prevail,
He will be our Succor in the fiercest hour. [Chorus]

3 Sound upon the bugle the thrilling, ringing cry,
And together muster, soldiers of the King,
Boldly for this worthy fight,
Full of courage, do the right,
Then with joy and gladness songs of vict'ry sing. [Chorus]
