Hear me when I call;
Turn to me in mercy,
At thy feet I fall;
Help me bear life’s crosses,
All my sins forgive,
Like my Lord and Master,
Daily may I live.

2 Give me strength, I pray thee,
To resist the ill,
When my courage fails me,
Be my comfort still;
Thou hast known temptation,
Yet without a sin,
By thy strength I’ll conquer,
By thy grace I’ll win.

3 In my darkest trials,
Be my constant friend;
Lead me ev’ry moment
To my journey’s end;
When the waves of Jordan
Fiercely round me roll,
In thine arms of mercy,
Bear my fainting soul.
