The children's work

Representative Text

1. The army of our Lord and King
Is marching on today,
The mighty men of valor go
To drive the foe away;
Not in the ranks our place we find,
The sword and shield to bear,
We're smoothing out the highway steep
For soldiers marching there.

Chorus:
We cannot carry burdens for our Master dear,
Nor lead his mighty armies to the fray,
But we can walk beside his faithful soldiers here,
And pick the little pebbles from the way.

2. The little stone of weariness
A smile will roll aside,
The jagged rocks of enmity
A kindly word will hide;
The stumbling blocks of pride and doubt
A cheerful song will start,
And balm of thoughtful deeds will heal
Some sadly wounded heart. [Chorus]

3. So let us do our little work
With all our humble might,
And help to win the battle waged
For God and Truth and Right;
And when the soldiers fighting now
Shall lay their armor down,
Then we'll fall in and side by side
We'll fight to win the crown. [Chorus]
