Representative Text

1 The clouds may hover o’er me,
The storms about me break,
My Saviour’s passed before me
And knows the way I take.

Refrain:
He knoweth the way I take,
He knoweth the way I take,
Whate’er betide he’s at my side
And never will he forsake,
He knoweth the way I take,
He knoweth the way I take,
In joy or pain, in loss or gain,
He knoweth the way I take.

2 Tis heaven all around me;
And if I sleep or wake
My Saviour’s love surrounds me,
He knows the way I take. [Refrain]

3 There may be heavy sorrows
Along my earthly way,
There is no dread, “Tomorrow”
But ever bright today. [Refrain]

4 So if the day be dreary,
And if the nights be long,
And if my soul grows weary
I’ll sing this joyous song. [Refrain]
