Representative Text

1 The Friend of friends, the Shepherd dear,
Beholdeth all the waiting way;
And wherefore should His people fear,
Since He will guide us day by day?

2 He leads us onto joy and light,
He guards our souls from touch of ill;
He chooses ev’ry step aright,
To Him we cling, and trust Him still.

3 Thro’ changing scenes the Lord is right,
Our lives are crowned by His care;
And naught can hide us from the eye
That watches o’er us ev’rywhere.

4 In Him His children all are one,
And in His happy fold on high
Shall we not meet, when toil is done,
Where none shall ever breathe “Good-bye?”
