Representative Text

1 The Magi of the East,
All coming from afar,
Were guided by the friendly light
Of Bethlehem’s bright star.

Refrain:
O Star, bright, beautiful Star,
Shine on us from the blue,
And guide our little pilgrim feet
Our risen Lord to view.

2 The Magi of the East
Enjoyed the happy lot
Of following that brilliant guide
Which marked the sacred spot. [Refrain]

3 May we, the favored few,
Be guided from above,
That we may follow on to know
The bliss of perfect love. [Refrain]

4 The Magi of the East
Extolled the Infant King;
But we “behold the Lamb of God”—
To Him our carols sing. [Refrain]
