Representative Text

1 The righteous Father knoweth best
Why I a thorny road must take,
And I will bow at His behest,
Tho’ foes assail and friends forsake.

Refrain:
He knoweth best, His will be done.
Sometime I’ll lay my burden down,
To suffer with His blessed Son,
I’ll wear with Him the fadeless crown.

2 The righteous Father knoweth why
His child must meet the pain and loss,
And as the weary years go by,
Must groan beneath a heavy cross. [Refrain]

3 I’ll bear my cross and murmur not,
My Savior suffered much for me,
His precious blood my ransom bought
Upon the mountain Calvary. [Refrain]
