Representative Text

1 There are blessings in that duty hard, that meets you in the way,
Tho’ it cause you pain and heartache as you face it day by day;
Do that duty, do it bravely, cast all tho’t of self behind,
And in duties that await you, hidden blessings you shall find.

Refrain:
There are undiscovered blessing, O ‘tis true,
Love has wonderful surprises waiting you, awaiting you,
Every blessing we discover should forever us remind,
Of the many hidden blessings earnest souls are sure to find.

2 There are blessings in the battles fierce that ever we must fight,
When we stand against the evil and uphold the good and right;
Stand for Jesus, you will conquer, tho’ the way with foes is lines,
And in bravely facing danger, hidden blessings you shall find. [Refrain]

3 There are blessings in the heavy load that must be borne by all,
Tho’ you dread the weary burden or beneath it almost fall;
Lift it bravely, you can bear it, with a spirit sweet and kind,
And in bearing heavy burdens, hidden blessings you shall find. [Refrain]

4 There are blessings in the stony road your feet must travel o’er,
Tho’ it seems more rough and thorny as you follow it the more;
March along it strong and trustful, with a heart by grace refined,
And in pressing ever onward, hidden blessings you shall find. [Refrain]
