Representative Text

1 There are sunlit hills above me,
And the hand of God is there,
Where the valley shadows never reach
And the sky is always fair;
Though my cares press heavy on me,
And my heart is sore distressed,
In the love of Christ my Savior
I find perfect rest.

Refrain:
I will leave the misty valley for the sunlit hills above,
Yes, I’ll leave the misty valley for the hills above;
God has led me from the shadow to the sunlight of His love,
So I’ll leave the misty valley for the hills above.

2 With the light of faith to guide me,
And with hope at hand to cheer,
I will struggle up the rugged steep,
Never falter, never fear;
I will leave the dismal valley,
And above the mists of sin,
In the glory of the sunlit hills
New life begin. [Refrain]

3 When the shadows gather round me,
And my sight is growing dim,
I will lift my eyes to heav’n above—
For my help must come from Him.
He will guide me through the valley,
Where the path of life may wend,
Till I reach the gates of glory
And my journey’s end. [Refrain]
