Representative Text

1 There is a golden chain which binds,
My heart to heav’n above;
It’s links are formed of fervent pray’r,
And God’s unchanging love.

Refrain:
O golden chain of pray’r,
Sweet balm for ev’ry care;
O may it bind me to Thy side,
‘Til I, life’s storms outride.

2 When storms arise and o’er my way,
The darksome shadows fall;
The golden chain still holds me fast,
To Him, my strength my all. [Refrain]

3 When skies above are clear and bright,
And sunbeams ‘round me play;
I praise Him for the answered pray’rs,
And grace for ev’ry day. [Refrain]
