Representative Text

1 There is a name of matchless worth,
That thrills the soul of heav’n and earth;
The name of Jesus, yes, ‘tis He
Who bore our sins on Calvary.

Refrain:
Oh, precious Name, oh, wondrous pow’r;
It triumphs in the trying hour;
The Name of Jesus, yes, ‘tis He
Who bore our sins on Calvary.

2 The angels in the heights adore
And sing His triumphs evermore;
Shall we who know His pow’r to save
Our love withhold, since His He gave? [Refrain]

3 No, we will sing the boundless love
That bro’t Him from His throne above;
To pay the ransom price of sin,
That we might dwell for aye with Him. [Refrain]

4 We’ll speak to others, in the Name
Of Him who ever lives the same;
Of Him who knows our ev’ry need,
And for His own doth intercede. [Refrain]

5 His all prevailing Name will win
The sinner from the paths of sin.
‘Twill give him strength for ev’ry hour,
To meet and foil the tempter’s pow’r. [Refrain]
