Representative Text

1 There is One who promises to lead you,
When your load is more than you can bear;
In your sorrow you will always find Him;
Jesus knows and He will gladly share.

Refrain:
When you see Him in the testings,
How much lighter is the way;
When you see Him in the darkness,
How much brighter is the day.
Just remember when in sorrow
He can lift your load of care,
And your trials will end in glory
If you see the Savior there.

2 He will never leave thee nor forsake thee,
Friends of earth may vanish all around,
But the love of Christ will never fail you,
In His heart compassion doth abound. [Refrain]

3 Rest in Him when all about is darkness,
He alone can lead you out of night,
And the place to which the Lord will guide you
Will be filled with gladness and delight. [Refrain]

Little is known about Albert Allen Ketchum, except that he was once a student at Moody Bible Institute, in Chicago, and lived at one time in Long Beach, California. While attending Moody in the early 1920′s, he wrote the words and music for a gospel song called, "Why Do I Sing About Jesus?" It was one of 12 or 15 songs he submitted to Harry Dixon Clarke for publication. --wordwisehymns.com/2010/02/12/… Go to person page >
