Mathias Elkins [Tice Elkins] Born: April 21, 1878, Lincoln County, West Virginia. Died: March 17, 1967, Alamogordo, New Mexico. Buried: Monte Vista Cemetery, Alamogordo, New Mexico. Tice Elkins was born in Lincoln County, WV, near Farrellsburg, on Apr. 21, 1878, to Andrew and Elizabeth Elkins. Baptized into Christ by Irving Johnson in September, 1903, he began preaching in 1905 after receiving special training under A. S. Johnson and attending the School of Evangelists at Kimberlin Heights, TN. His wife was the former Katherine Jackson, and they raised nine children.
