Representative Text

1 There’s a precious fountain opened,
For uncleanness and for sin,
And the invitation given,
Only come and wash therein.

Refrain:
Oh! the precious blood of Jesus,
Fount of cleansing, full and free,
Come and wash and live forever,
It was shed for you and me.

2 Though your sins may be as scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow,
He who washes in this fountain
Shall its healing virtues know. [Refrain]

3 Oh! my friend why do you linger,
Wash in Calvary’s crimson wave,
Come now for there’s no repentance,
In the cold and silent grave. [Refrain]

4 Will you heed the invitation,
Come to Jesus, don’t delay,
Ere tomorrow death may claim you,
Oh, today’s salvation’s day. [Refrain]

5 When your dearest friends forsake you;
In your sorest want and need,
Then the sympathizing Jesus,
Will become a Friend indeed. [Refrain]
