Representative Text

1 There’s some one whose life we can brighten,
There’s some one across the way,
There’s some one whose cares we may lighten,
There’s some one for whom we can pray.

Refrain:
We have a neighbor across the way,
Across the way some heart may be sad;
Some one is needing our help today,
There’s some one we’ll try to make glad.

2 Anear us are souls grown aweary,
And sick with the toil and strife;
Anear us are lives that are dreary,
Discouraged and worn with the strife. [Refrain]

3 About us the harvest is lying,
And reapers, alas, are few;
Arise, for the daylight is dying;
Arise, there is labor for you. [Refrain]

4 Unto us rich blessings are given,
So full from His loving hand;
We’ll give and have treasure in heaven,
And blest shall we be in the land. [Refrain]
