Representative Text

1 Though a mighty foe assail thee,
Do not let thy courage fail thee.
Soldier, do not yield,
For God is on the Field.

Refrain:
God is on the field,
He will be thy shield
He can put thy foes to flight,
Only trust His promise true,
For God is on the field with you.

2 He can make thy darkness brighten,
He can make thy burden lighten,
Soldier, do not fear,
For God is very near. [Refrain]

3 When thy weakness seems appalling,
Hear the voice of Jesus calling,
“Loved one, lean on me,
For I have strength for thee.” [Refrain]
