1 Thrice blessed Word of God!
Gift of a Father's love,
Which holy prophets wrote,
Moved by the Holy Dove:

2 Within thy pages fair,
What hidden treasure lies!
Sweet lessons for the young,
Deep wisdom for the wise,

3 A well of water pure,
A mine of priceless gold;
The eye of faith alone
thy secrets can unfold.

4 Yet may the childlike heart
From thy sweet teaching learn
The way to endless life,
And Jesus' mind discern.

5 Therefore with grateful hearts,
O Trinity divine,
We magnify Thy name,
For this blest gift of Thine.
