Representative Text

1 Thy voice, O Lord, I’ve heard once more,
O help me now unbar the door;
And bid Thee welcome to my heart,
Nor cause Thee ever to depart.

Refrain:
Come in, O Lord, come in;
Come in, O Lord, come in;
And cleanse this sinful heart of mine,
Come in, O Lord, come in!

2 I’ve heard Thy gentle knock before,
But would not give my idols o’er;
O hear my earnest pray’r today,
I cannot let Thee go away. [Refrain]

3 O blessed Friend no longer stand,
With aching brow, and pierced hand
Outside the door, ‘tis open wide;
Come in, and evermore abide. [Refrain]
