Representative Text

1 We are out upon the ocean, bound for home,
Where the winds and waves of sorrow never come;
And my soul is filled with rapture on the way,
For we soon shall reach the land of endless day.

Refrain:
We are homeward bound for glory,
Homeward bound for glory!
There we’ll meet with loved ones gone before;
We are homeward bound for glory,
Homeward bound for glory,
All the storms of life will soon be o’er.

2 He has landed many pilgrims safely home,
Where no sin with all its sorrows ne’er can come;
There we’ll meet with all our loved ones gone before,
And we’ll tell his wondrous love for evermore. [Refrain]

3 Come and go with us today, we’ll soon be home;
While the Spirit now invites you, sinner, come;
Jesus waits to save you now from all your sin
Will you open now your heart and let him in. [Refrain]
