Representative Text

1 We’ll lay our heavy burden down,
By and by,
By and by;
Exchange the cross for the golden crown,
By and by.

Refrain:
There’ll be sweet resting by and by,
By and by, by and by,
Sweet, sweet resting by and by.

2 We’ll sing with all the ransom’d there,
By and by,
By and by;
And swell our praise on the balmy air,
By and by. [Refrain]

3 We’ll be with Jesus where He is,
By and by,
By and by;
A home more brightly fair than this,
By and by. [Refrain]
