Representative Text

1 We’re a happy pilgrim band,
We shall gain the victory!
Marching thro’ the promised land,
We shall gain the day.

Refrain:
March on, and we shall gain the victory,
March on, and we shall gain the day.

2 Since we’ve left the world behind,
We shall gain the victory!
Milk and honey now we find,
We shall gain the day. [Refrain]

3 We are saved and sanctified,
We shall gain the victory!
And in Jesus we abide,
We shall gain the day. [Refrain]

4 Feasting on the corn and wine,
We shall gain the victory!
We will always shout and shine,
We shall gain the day. [Refrain]

5 There are giants great and tall,
We shall gain the victory!
But we’ll meet and slay them all,
We shall gain the day. [Refrain]

6 If we pray, and sing, and shout,
We shall gain the victory!
Satan and his host we’ll rout,
We shall gain the day. [Refrain]

7 We shall all outshine the sun,
We shall gain the victory!
Wear a crown when life is done,
We shall gain the day. [Refrain]
