Representative Text

1 We’re soldiers in the army of the Lord,
We march to battle at His holy word;
Since Christ, our valiant Captain, leads us on,
The glorious victory will soon be won.

Refrain:
As we march, as we march,
With our banners brightly gleaming in the sun,
As we march, as we march,
Soon the glorious vict’ry will be won.

2 Tho’ foes, a countless number, fill the land,
For God, and truth, and right we’ll nobly stand;
Our trust shall ever in our leader be,—
With Him we’ll march away to victory. [Refrain]

3 Our cause is holy, and we fear no foe;
Thro’ Christ all evil we will overthrow;
Then, when the battle’s over, we shall sing
Hosanna in the presence our of King. [Refrain]
