Representative Text

1 When all without is discord,
Around me all is strife,
Within my heart the blessed joy-bells chime.
With sweet and joyous music
I’ll cheer some other life,
A happy Christ all the time.

Chorus:
When other joys are fleeting,
There’s peace within my heart,
For I can hear the blessed joy-bells chime;
With sweet and joyous music
I’ll cheer some other life,
A happy Christ all the time.

2 Unto my weaker brother
I’ll lend a helping hand—
As day by day the hill of life I climb—
To make the long road brighter,
Till at the top I stand:
A happy Christ all the time. [Chorus]

3 My Savior I will follow,
Like Him I’ll try to be;
My aid, to imitate His life sublime:
My light to so keep shining
That all the world may see,
A happy Christ all the time. [Chorus]
