Representative Text

1 When I’m grieving o’er the blunders
In the work I’ve tried to do,
How I failed the threads to follow
Of the pattern fair and true;
In the tapestry I’m weaving,
Ah, so many a blemish wrought,
Yet, there’s comfort in my Saviour,
There is blessing in the tho’t:—

Chorus:
“He shall fail not, nor be discouraged,”
He will help me, He will help me o’er and o’er;
He will save me, save me fully,
Let me trust Him, let me trust Him more and more.

2 When I’m kneeling, heavy-hearted,
With confession on my lips,
Sin, its gloomy shadow casting,
All the sunshine to eclipse;
When I see my best intentions
With mistakes and weakness fraught,
Then there’s comfort in my Saviour,
There is blessing in the tho’t:— [Chorus]

3 Happy watchword! still ‘tis “forward!”
Gird the armor on anew,
For the victory is certain,
Tho’ we faint, we’ll still pursue;
Sweetest hope and consolation,
By the gospel message bro’t
There is comfort in my Saviour,
There is blessing in the tho’t:— [Chorus]
