Representative Text

1 When Jesus came down from His throne above,
He loved me, He loved me,
He brought to the world His undying love,
That loved even me.

Refrain:
He loved me, He loved me
Enough His blood to outpour;
He loved me, He loved me!
O but to love Him more!

2 Though oft He was weary and sad and lone,
He loved me, He loved me,
Despised and rejected, He labored on,
And loved even me. [Refrain]

3 When wounded His sacred—His thorn crowned head—
He loved me, He loved me,
My sin on His sin-bearing soul He laid,
And loved even me. [Refrain]

4 I know that my blessed Redeemer lives,
He loved me, He loved me,
And daily this blessed assurance gives,
He loves even me. [Refrain]
