Representative Text

1 When waves of sin had drifted me
Far out into the night,
The Savior came and lifted me
Into a world of light.

Chorus:
How marvelous that He lifted me,
That He lifted me, in mercy lifted me;
How marvelous that He lifted me,
In mercy lifted, lifted even me.

2 When evil’s pow’r was thralling me,
And storms were ‘round my head,
I heard my Savior calling me,
His hand on mine was laid. [Chorus]

3 Into the dark a prayer I sent,
A feeble, falt’ring word;
But tho’ by grief my voice was spent,
The blessed Savior heard. [Chorus]

4 Where waves of sin had drifted me
Far in the dark alone,
My Savior came and lifted me,
And claimed me for His own. [Chorus]
