F. C. (Francis C.) Wood was a blacksmith and farmer near Dudleyville, Alabama, near the Tallapoosa-Chambers county line. He was a member of the East Alabama Musical Convention in 1869, and was selected, with W. L. Williams, as a delegate to the Southern Musical Convention.
