Born: JuÂly 12, 1873, MayÂville, New JerÂsey. Died: March 4, 1962, Long Beach, CalÂiÂforÂnia. Leech spent her childÂhood in Cape May Court House, New JerÂsey, and atÂtendÂed CoÂlumÂbia UnÂiÂverÂsiÂty and TemÂple UnÂiÂverÂsiÂty. She played the orÂgan at BeÂthaÂny MethÂodÂist Church in CamÂden, New JerÂsey, served as acÂcomÂpaÂnist at evanÂgelÂiÂcal servÂicÂes, and wrote some 500 hymn tunes in her lifeÂtime.
