1874 - 1955 Composer of "[Wonderful Bible! book of the Lord]" in Gospel Carols Born: March 31, 1874, Washington, DC.
Died: March 27, 1955, Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Buried: International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
After attending college in Battle Creek, Michigan, Harris produced his first hymnal in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1902. He then moved to Chicago, Illinois at the invitation of Peter Bilhorn, and in 1932, to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He composed and compiled a number of works, and was well known locally as he walked around with a canvas bag full of handbooks for sale. His works include:

1845 - 1926 Composer of "[The book of books, the Bible]" in The Little Sower for Sabbath Schools James Holmes Rosecrans studied at the Baxter University of Music in Friendship, New York. After teaching for two years, he joined the Fillmore Brothers Music House in Cincinnati, Ohio. As of 1880, he was teaching music in Douglas County, Colorado. In 1884, was an evangelist in California, and later was associated with evangelistic efforts in Texas, and taught music and Bible at Carlton College in Bonham, Texas. He published over 20 music collections in his lifetime.

1879 - 1962 Person Name: Elizabeth McE. Shields Author of "The Bible Is a Treasure Book" in Hymns for Primary Worship Shields, Elizabeth McEwen. (Camden, South Carolina, September 22, 1879--May 5, 1962, Asheville, North Carolina). She was named for her grandmother, Elizabeth McEwen of South Carolina. Director, Children's Work of the Presbyterian Board of Christian Education; Chair, children's section of what is now known as the National Council of Churches. Published many books for children, including Junior Hymns and Songs and Worship and Conduct Songs.

1838 - 1914 Person Name: H. G. Jackson Author of "Shine on" in Gospel Carols Born: January 1, 1838, Manchester, Indiana.
Died: November 12, 1914.
A Methodist minister, Jackson and his wife Alice spent many years as missionaries in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon their return to America, they lived in the River Forest/Oak Park area of Chicago, Illinois.
