62. Eternity, Where?

1 Away from Jesus, away from God,
Straying afar from the path He trod;
No tho’t of Christ, no time for pray’r,
Death drawing nearer, eternity, where?

Shall it be joy in the ages to come,
Or shall it be endless despair?
Light everlasting, or darkness and gloom,
Eternity, eternity, where?

2 Away from Jesus, no rest or peace,
No true repentance, from sin no release,
Nearer the end, no light shines there,
No one to guide you, eternity, where? [Refrain]

3 Away from Mercy, the Judgment near,
Hopeless and trembling with doubt or fear,
Too late to accept His love and care,
“Guilty” the verdict, eternity, where? [Refrain]
