| Text: | Paul and Felix |
| Author: | Jno. R. Clements |
| Tune: | [Paul, a “prisoner of Jesus”] |
| Composer: | S. W. Beazley |
1 Paul, a “prisoner of Jesus”
There in Felix’s presence stands,
And so eloquently pleads he,
That attention he commands.
Refrain:
Not afraid to speak for Jesus
In the mighty rulers hall,
Not afraid to show his colors
Was the “loyal servant,” Paul.
2 As he reasons Felix trembles;
Paul, the Master’s faithful slave,
Though on trial, prayeth only
He the priceless soul may save. [Refrain]
3 Felix trembles, then dismisses;
On the line he stood that day,
But he stilled the veil of conscience,
Threw his hope of heav’n away. [Refrain]
