369. Welcome After Baptism

Name and Name have risen from the waters of baptism
to newness of life.
They have become one with the witnesses of God
from all times and places.
Through baptism, God promises them the gift of the Holy Spirit
to nurture them all the days of their lives.
Let us add our blessing and pledge our love
as we welcome them into this living community of faith.

We rejoice in God’s empowering love,
freely given to each and all.
We welcome you, newly baptized,
into the circle of love in Christ’s church.
We praise God for the gifts for ministry
that you bring to this community.
We promise to pray for you,
to seek the depths of faith with you,
to support you, and to love you.
We covenant with you to love God
with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength,
and our neighbors as ourselves.
