1 Long years ago, on Christmas morn
The Saviour of mankind was born;
And Angels carolled at His Birth,
"Good will to men; peace on the earth."
2 Now after years of gloom and strife,
The Christ-child brings us love and life,
Bids hatred end and warfare cease
In world-wide brotherhood and peace.
3 O Holy Child, this Christmas morn
Once more within our hearts be born.
Blest Angels, chant your songs again,
"On earth be peace; goodwill to men."
