1 Christ's word to us is like a burning fire,
searing our hearts, our actions to inspire.
Burn deep within, O Christ, forgive and cleanse.
Show us the world through God's own perfect lens.

2 Where people long for freedom, peace, and bread,
but they are given chains and strife instead,
grant us the flame of courage, light of truth.
Use us, O God, now with the strength of youth.

3 When we are bowed by grief, defeat, or fear,
warm and ignite the fire of faith and cheer.
So may we be empow'red to do the right,
living from darkness into dawning light.

4 So shall the Word, still like a burning fire,
be all the truth and wisdom we require,
flashing new insight, making vision clear,
revealing Christ among us now and here.
